I had a problem with a computer program and had to do a system restore, and now the Audacity screen comes up but I can not hear anything even when I try to playback what I previously recorded. Please help.

Is the no-sound problem specific to Audacity ?, e.g. do you have no-sound with other programs, say media players ?
[BTW was the message confirming restore had been completed displayed : "Your system has been successfully restored to … " ]
You forgot to say which operating system and which audacity version.
