I don’t know what happened, I was using Audacity with no problems, now I cannot record with mi mic, I everything is check ok, but still cannot record
Ahem…
You have a computer?
It has an operating system?
The operating system also has a version?
Audacity has a version?
Your other equipment has names / model numbers / … etc.?
Your other equipment is connected how?
What is the result of your “recording trials”?
Just some information would help - my clairvoyant abilities are quite limited.
Yes, I am having the same issue Taino! I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and a Rode Nt1 5th Gen mic. When I use the USB connect it works but it’s not the best to record there’s a lot of noise disturbing the audio. But when I use my XLR connect, it’s not recording anything. I went to Focusrite support cause I thought I needed a new interface but no, that’s not the issue. My Audacity has been updated to the latest version. I checked the audio settings on Audacity and it all checks out. Someone help Taino AND me (LOL)! ![]()
Does the Rode microphone require phantom power in XLR mode? If so, does the 2i2 provide it?
@Wrecks0 Uh…. LOL… what is phantom power? ![]()
Recording devices (USB mic/audio-interface) have to be enabled in Windows, & selected in Audacity
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_selecting_your_recording_device.html
and Audacity has to be permitted to use the mic / audio-interface … https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/error_opening_sound_device.html#mic
A button labelled 48V(olts) on the (scarlet) audio-interface.
This link explains phantom power better than I could in a post.
