You have a computer?
It has an operating system?
The operating system also has a version?
Audacity has a version?
Your other equipment has names / model numbers / … etc.?
Your other equipment is connected how?
What is the result of your “recording trials”?

Just some information would help - my clairvoyant abilities are quite limited.

Yes, I am having the same issue Taino! I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and a Rode Nt1 5th Gen mic. When I use the USB connect it works but it’s not the best to record there’s a lot of noise disturbing the audio. But when I use my XLR connect, it’s not recording anything. I went to Focusrite support cause I thought I needed a new interface but no, that’s not the issue. My Audacity has been updated to the latest version. I checked the audio settings on Audacity and it all checks out. Someone help Taino AND me (LOL)! :sweat_smile:

Audacity will not pick up my microphone or my voice on recording

Does the Rode microphone require phantom power in XLR mode? If so, does the 2i2 provide it?

Recording devices (USB mic/audio-interface) have to be enabled in Windows, & selected in Audacity
