I can't see line in when recording audio

Hi there,

Apologies if this question has already been answered elsewhere but I’m new to posting here.

I have Audacity Version 2.3.3. for recording audio with a mic attached to a Focusrite 2i2 preamp. For some reason when I click ‘record’ in Audacity I can’t see the line in which means I can see or edit any recorded audio.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Audacity on my Windows 10 laptop to see if this would solve the problem but to no avail. Any solutions to this please?
