Hi, I need help…being trying all day. I’m using Audacity 2.0.5. on a Windows XP Professional. I am using a ‘mio’ 1 in 1 out USB to MIDI. I have the setting as follows: MME, OUTPUT DEVICE:SoundMax Digital Audio. INPUT DEVICE: Microsoft Sound Mapper. INPUT 2 stereo (Input channels). I have the digital piano connected via USB. Computer recognizes USB.
I will appreciate your help. I have to turn homework mp3 and I can’t seem to be able to record.
Thank you
Hilda
MIDI doesn’t carry sound and Audacity doesn’t speak MIDI.
I have a MIDI keyboard but I plug its headphone sound connection into the stereo recording connection of my Mac. If you have a later Mac or almost any Windows laptop, you may need an external USB stereo converter such as the Behringer UCA202.

If your Windows machine is a desktop, then you may have a blue stereo connection to the soundcard.
