I cant get Audacity to record from a digital recorder I have

I get vu, signal but it will not record and I don’t get any input while it is recording on each track just a noise signal How do I record with this.

You’ll need to tell us what “this” is. Which digital recorder do you have, how is it connected, if it is connected? Also fill in the info from the pink band at the top of this forum.

Pretend you’re trying to explain to someone how to make recordings like you’re making them.

Does the digital recorder have a USB port? You should be able to open the file with Audacity directly from the recorder, or you should be able to transfer the files to you hard drive so you shouldn’t have to “record” it.

If you are using an analog connection, how are you connected?
