I cannot find my Audacity file?

I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

Aud version 2.05

I recorded 3 files this morning, on two computers, both on above OS and Audacity cannot locate them.

I went into Start into the Audacity icon and it showed two files I recorded on my laptop, one had 0 bytes and the other one had 317 KB. But neither one can be found.

I searched my download folder and documents, not there!

I also have the Aud folder on my desktop but nothing is inside.

Anyone have any idea where this could be? I am a new user to Audacity. Thanks!

Just to be clear, the latest Audacity version is 2.0.5 which can be obtained from http://audacityteam.org/download/ .

There are no “Aud” folders produced by Audacity, so again I suggest you make sure you have obtained Audacity from us.

If you used File > Save Project…, click File > Recent Files which should open the saved AUP file.

If you used File > Export…, open that menu item again. It should open to the location you exported to.

Audacity Projects (AUP file and _data folder) are only for Audacity. No other applications on your computer can open Audacity Projects. Please see here for an explanation of what Audacity Projects are: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audacity_projects.html .
