Suddenly when I went to record music for a show, I hit record on Audacity and there is this horrible noise and no matter what I do, I can’t record music. Apparently I cannot upload what it sounds like because I am a new user. Any suggestions please?
If you are recording streaming audio turn OFF Software Playthrough.
Otherwise, tell us what you’re recording from… Your laptop’s built-in mic? A USB turntable? Etc.?

OMG You’re my savior! I had no idea what the problem was. Thank you SO MUCH!
I do have another thing that’s happening. I can post it if that’s the correct way to do it but when I am editing my show, I can see a portion on the screen and in the past as it moved into the next part I could still see it but now I have to back out to see where the cursor is. Somehow things got changed when I upgraded. It didn’t do this in the past. I don’t know if I was able to make myself clear.
