How Too > cut 1 mono file into 2 and join ?

May I ask an Audacity Guru: I have a long mono file, the 1st half is music and the 2nd half is my voice.

I want to cut it in half where the music stops and the voice begins then join them together to render it into 1 mono file of music with my voice over the top of it ?

Note: I did it before and now I forget :unamused:

Thanks Steve

  1. place your cursor add the start of the โ€œvoiceโ€ part
  2. click and drag right to select the โ€œvoiceโ€ part
  3. Ctrl + X to cut out the voice part and place it on the Audacity clipboard
  4. Tracks > Add New > mono or stereo track as appropriate
  5. click the โ€œSkip to startโ€ button in the Transport toolbar or us Shift + Home
  6. Ctrl + V to paste the contents of the Audacity clipboard into the new track

Job done :sunglasses:
