How to use the current version of FFmpeg in Audacity

Environment:

  • Audacity 2.0.3 on Windows 7, working happily.
  • FFMpeg installed per the FAQ, working fine.
  • FFMpeg library versions (files dated 4/4/2011):
  libavutil     50.15. 1 / 50.15. 1
  libavcodec    52.72. 2 / 52.72. 2
  libavformat   52.64. 2 / 52.64. 2
  libswscale     0.11. 0 /  0.11. 0

Question:

  • How can I use the most current version of FFmpeg (2.0.1)? I don’t have the tools to compile from source.
  • Current FFmpeg has the following library versions:
  libavutil      52. 38.100
  libavcodec     55. 18.102
  libavformat    55. 12.100
  libswscale      2.  3.100
