So while recording for a web show, we recorded two different 1 hour sessions a few days ago and I accidently saved them both together in the same wav file. I didn’t save the two files in an audacity project. But I did save out the second session as a wav file by itself. So I’m wondering if there is a way to edit the second session out of the first session from the wav file with both of them together in Audacity?
Can anyone help me tell me how to do it? I tried searching for it via Google, but I haven’t been able to find something on it specifically.
But I did save out the second session as a wav file by itself.
That is the step that saves you from outright dismissal of your project. People try to do this trick with MP3 or other compressed formats and the compression distortion dooms the project immediately. WAV doesn’t have compression distortion.
Import the mix and the second track one above the other. Select the second track by clicking just above MUTE.
Effect > Invert.
Play.
If you lead a wholesome life, the second track sound should vanish. File > Export.
