Hello all, I have basically zero experience with Audacity or any knowledge of audio terminology; in other words, I’m basically as new as a newbie can get. In this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqdAsvyHluI), there are two male singers, and if at all possible, I want to remove the high-pitched vocalist that comes in at 0:26, but still leave the other guy’s vocals in. If there are any plugins or things for me to accomplish this task, I would be grateful if someone could direct me to them. Again, I apologize, since I’m not familiar with the terminology that’s been used sometimes. I’ve looked, and there are tutorials to remove both voices completely, but that’s not what I want to accomplish here.
(I apologize for the double post; I didn’t see any way to edit my original post so here I am.) I forgot to mention that I’m using Windows 7 and Audacity 2.1.0. Again, sorry for the double post!
I thought I recognized Sparks.
No. You’re stuck. We can’t take apart a mixed performance into individual voices or instruments. Vocal Removal is a special case where the performer is in the exact stereo center of the performance, and there are a number of other requirements
There is new vocal isolation and removal tool in Audacity 2.1.1 you can try.
