how to record/log effects assigned

I am brand new to Audacity. And I would really appreciate any directions toward how I can go back to see which effects were assigned at what levels to any given clip. I can’t quite see where that is. Thank you.

View > History…

NB: History does not persist after you close an Audacity project: it is forgotten.
