How to make audio shorter ( not cutting )

Hello
im beginner to this great app im using version 2.0.5
i have sound effect that is 5 sec long , i like to make the same sound to be 2 sec long , how can i scale it or make it shouter ( i don’t know the right term when it comes to sounds)
i know it will change the sound some how but i don’t care

Those are the Effects > Change… tools.

Change Speed changes everything. It’s like dragging your finger on a record. Change pitch moves a singer’s voice up or down without affecting anything else. Change tempo doesn’t change the pitch.

In general, half and double is too far. You’re never going to get anything to sound right.
