How to import multiple files but work on them one at a time?

I’d like to be able to import multiple mp3s to the project window then edit them one at a time, but when I select one of them and try to listen to a portion of it, all the files in the window play at the same time. It seems like it should be a simple thing to correct, but I’m having difficulty figuring out how. Anyone know if there’s a way to do what I’m trying to do?

You can use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to the left of each track. Click one track SOLO and that track will play by itself.
