Hi there, I need some guidance on how to smooth out this distorted audio.
I was filming a live event a getting interviews. I was recording audio on a video pro top mic ( herein lies my mistake!) and the audio just sounds a bit too distorted and there’s background noise.
any guidance would be appreciated!
Distortion is notoriously difficult (read “impossible”) to fix.
You may be able to achieve some amount of improvement with the “Clip Fix” effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/clip_fix.html), and then use the Equalization effect (http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/equalization.html) to reduce the high frequencies and make the sound a little less harsh. Don’t expect miracles
