How to eliminate echo?

Mac OSX El Capitain, Audacity 2.1.2, From .dmg

Ok great! I’ve downloaded the app and Sunflower and completed my first recording from a live stream.
I’ve played the recording back on my speakers.
How can I get rid of the echo, or re-record without the echo?

Ensure that Audacity is not set for playback via Soundflower. (look in the device toolbar)
Audacity should be set to play through your normal audio device / sound card.
