How To Disable Onboard Mic While Streaming?

Hey everyone!

This is driving me nuts. I am trying to stream the audio of my band from a youtube video and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to disable the built-in mcrophone on my laptop while doing it. I tried everything I can think of, and even temporarily disabled the microphone driver in Control Panel (Windows 8.1) but this causes Audacity to spit out an error message when I hit the record button. I am trying to record in Stereo, streaming only, no microphone because the room isn’t that quiet. lol

I tried it in Audacity, but lowering the mic input in the toolbar also seems to remove the streaming as well, Any ideas what to do here?

Thanks!

What exactly are you trying to do?

If you are trying to record the audio from YouTube, see: Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows - Audacity Manual .

If you want to stream audio across the internet to other computers, Audacity does not do that. Use VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.en_GB.html .
