How to change the software language from French to English?

English is my preferred language. Living in France, I got the French version. Is there a way to change to English?

None of these seem to work. Are these suggestions for the 2.02 version?

The newest version which I downloaded has a folder for languages. There is no “en”. I click on the UK folder, and nothing happens.

Audacity does not require a translation file for English because English is the native language. Translation files are only required for other languages.
You don’t need to do anything directly with those files.

If the language is currently set to French then you need to:

  1. Click on the “Edition” menu
  2. Select “Preferences” (at the bottom of the menu)
  3. Select “Interface” in the list on the left side of the Preferences dialogue.
  4. On the right side of the dialogue where it says “Langue” select “English”.
  5. Click the “OK” button
  6. Exit Audacity
  7. Restart Audacity.
