how do I unlock so I can post a new topic question? 
Moderator note: You don’t unlock, the Forum Moderators do - unfortunately we have to moderate posts on this forum for new users to avoid a flood of spam much of which is extremely unpleasant and some downright dangerous. We do have moderators scattered around the various timezones of the world so it doesn’t normally take too long for a post to be approved.
I have split this post of onto a separate thread for you as it was unconnected to the one you piggy-backed on.
Go to the front page of the Forum, click the link for the operating system you are on, then click “New Topic” near top left. Please see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Asking_Questions#post .
If you want help it’s almost always best to start a new topic rather than reply to someone else’s. Even if your problem seems similar, crucial factors like the operating system you are on or the device you are trying to record from will probably not be the same, and it gets confusing to reply to different people in the same topic.
