Hi, Can you show a tutorial of how to remove 60 hz square tone on Audacity?
Version: Audacity 3.7.3
OS: Windows 11
Same as your other question about a sawtooth except there are only odd harmonics.
Quick-fix for a 60 Hz square-wave hum in Audacity 3.7.3 (Windows 11)
- Save a copy of the project first.
2.Select the whole track (Ctrl +A). - Open Effect ▸ EQ & Filters ▸ Notch Filter.
- Run it at 60 Hz, Q≈10, –30 dB.
- Press Ctrl + R to repeat, changing only the frequency to 180, 300, 420 Hz (odd harmonics).
- (Faster one-pass option) Use Filter Curve EQ instead, pulling down those same frequencies by ~30 dB.
- If a faint buzz remains, grab a short sample of only the hum and run Effect ▸ Noise Reduction (6 dB / 6 / 3 bands).
- Play back and compare—hum should be gone without harming the rest of the audio.
