How Do I Monitor Pitch?

This must be really simple, but I can’t find the answer. I want to read out the pitch during the song, sort of like the tuning fork in GarageBand. I want to be able to read out when I’m singing or playing back to see if I am slipping.

Well, especially when I’m singing. During playback it’s usually pretty obvious:)

I’ll move this topic to the “Adding features” section of the forum.
Audacity does not currently have a real-time tuner, in fact Audacity does very little in real time.

Perhaps you could use a stand-alone guitar tuner? If you have a smart phone there are some good cheap “tuner” apps available.

Okay, cool. Is there a plug in that will do it? I have external tuners, but that’s one thing I really like about GarageBand.

Not in “real time”. There is a plug-in that will tell you the note and frequency of something that you have already recorded, but that’s not what you want is it?

I could use that, too. Where is it?
