So, I have a bunch of classical music, mostly piano, all from different performers. I have tried to compress then amplify the audio but that did not work to well. What I want is to reduce the dynamic range so the lows are audible and the louds do not blow my ear drums out.
How do I do it?
I’d use Chris’s Compressor. Chris’s software is a cousin to the broadcast compressors that make it so you don’t have to constantly readjust the radio volume in your car. Ever notice that?

I change the first number – compress ratio to 0.77 from 0.5 and that works for me.
