How do I make a sound file longer?

I have a sound file 1 minute long. I want to make it 5 minutes long. I tried to repeatedly open the file and it just made separate pages for each 1 minute long file. I tried dragging the file on repeatedly and it stacked the files on top of each other and exported the 5 files it as a mixed up 1 minute file. Can someone advise on how to make the 1 minute file longer.

I have Audacity 2.3.1 and Windows 7.
