How can I set how long it will record after it detects silence?

I’m using sound activated recording. How can I set how long it will record after it detects silence?

I’m using Audacity 2.3.2

That’s a popular feature request. Currently “Sound Activated Recording” in Audacity simply stops when the sound drops below the threshold level - there is no “post roll”.

I would like to +1 this. As it is right now, it turns off so quick after threshold is not met, it makes it useless for music bc it kills your rests and stacks all the sound up. It is exactly the feature I’m looking for. Theres purpose built software for it Sorry if links are not allowed but https://www.snooper.se/ [from $24.95]

and https://sagebrush.com/recall [from $14.95]

Hope that helps someone. Id rather just use audacity though!!

Links are allowed when relevant, though links to commercial software is a borderline case. Recommendations for other software should only be made if you use that software yourself, and if it is non-free software you should include the price (I have added that for you).

Are you sure that “RecAll” supports pre / post roll? I don’t see any mention of that feature on their website.
Have you used these apps yourself?
