Hollow, echo-y sound

Hello, all:

I am such a newbie, I don’t even know how to describe the problem I want to solve in a couple of words.

I have a voice recording that sounds like it was made in a room that all hard surfaces - kind of echo-y. This is the male narrator. The female narrator’s recordings sound very different - better, like she is sitting across from you. I want to improve the sound of the male narrator’s recordings.

Is this possible? And if it is, how do I do it?

I’m working on Audacity 2.0.1 on Windows 7.

Thanks!

How are they being recorded? Describe the microphones and connections.

There is one common cause of very odd sounding voices and that’s Windows Enhanced Services.
