Hit record buton and head does not move

This has been a recurring problem and although it has resolved in the past by fooling with settings I have not been able to get it working the last few days.
I am using a program - ChordPulse - to generate a song. It plays and I hear it fine over my speakers. It ouputs to MS GS Wavetable Synth.
In the past I have mostly been able to start Audacity recording and start ChordPulse playing and it works fine but now I hit record and the transport head does not move and nothing gets recorded.
If I exit Chord Pulse then hit record in Audacity then the head moves fine.
Seems to be some kind of conflict between the 2 programs that has cropped up.
I’d sure like to get it working again.
Ideas?

Bumping for some ideas? Hoping . . .

We can tell you that if Audacity doesn’t get a sound bitstream from somewhere, the head won’t move.

Also Audacity gets it’s sound from Windows, not the device, microphone, or app. You might be able to go into the Windows Sound Control Panel and see if the show or song is getting that far.

This is the downside of having an odd problem with unusual software. There’s nobody on the forums that can help you.
