Highlight Problem

Hi,

I’m using Windows 8.1, Audacity 2.0.5 and I installed Audacity from the .exe installer.

Here’s my problem: I’ve been using Audacity successfully to import songs from my vinyl records to my computer. In my latest session I must have inadvertently pressed a key, which changed how highlighting works. Previously, I could highlight a section of my imported recording and the highlight would cover the actual sound waves. Now, the highlight covers only the background behind the sound waves. How do I change back to my original highlighting state?

I may be wrong, but I’m guessing that Bob has inadvertently pressed either the “Envelope” tool button or the “Multi-tool” button.

If so try clicking on the “Cursor” tool button - the I-beam
