I need help trying to do something which I know must be very simple. I have two songs in Audacity. I want to make a separate recording where one songs starts first about half way thru the first song cuts to the second song. Thats it! Can someone help me figure this out. The only thing I’ve managed to do is have them both playing at the same time. I have a MAC. I also want to be able to put this new version on other devices.
Since they’re both playing at the same time, you probably have them one above the other on their own timelines, right? You can use the MUTE and SOLO buttons to make one play without the other. You can use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push one track later than the other. When they’re lined up the way you want, you can use the fade-out, fade-in, etc. tools to get the show to go from one track to the other.
When you Export your work, Audacity will smash the two tracks into one show.
