Hi, I need help with recording sounds with Windows WASAPI. When I try to record, after a couple seconds, the recording stops for a second, and then starts again. When I play back the recording, it starts out normally, then essentially skips soon after. I do not know why this is happening.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Audacity Version: v 2.1.2
Operating System: Windows 8.1
Ensure Transport > Sound Activated Recording is turned off.
Play the stream before pressing Record in Audacity.
Ensure Edit > Preferences…, Recording pane, “Audio to buffer” is not set to a low value like 10 or 20 milliseconds. The default is 100 milliseconds.
Ensure you have Windows 8.1 audio drivers for your exact computer model, as provided by the computer manufacturer (or by the motherboard manufacturer if you built the computer yourself): http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updating_Sound_Device_Drivers.

Be aware you can download songs from some popular sites like YouTube if you have copyright holders’ permission to record them. Use your favourite search engine to find out how.
