Hi,
My first post, having a problem recording within Windows 10. Have a constant background noise with whatever I try to record. I have made a small demo of the noise in my dropbox link is here https://www.dropbox.com/s/9styxna929x34lx/Background%20noise.mp3?dl=0 Any help would be appreciated…Thanks.
- Which version of Audacity? (look in “Help > About Audacity” for the full version number)
- What are you trying to record?
- Is that exactly as the file was recorded, or have you amplified the noise?
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your response, I have answered your questions within your quoted post. I have put another recording in DropBox, this is trying to record a track from my Hard Drive into Audacity, no amplification or mods at all. Dropbox - Error - Simplify your life If I play it directly from H/D then it plays fine through PC speakers. The extra sound comes in when I have Audacity running and press the record button. Thanks.
Have a look in Audacity’s “Transport” menu and ensure that “Software Playthrough” is not selected.
Hi Steve,
How right you were, it is now not ticked and works like a dream…no background noise at all…Dropbox - Error - Simplify your life
Thank you for the solution, I would never have thought of changing that, I don’t know the ins and outs well enough. Thanks again…Dave.
