I have some recording that I need help “cleaning” up so that could hear certain background noises better. I have tried a bit but I am no expert. Alo if someone could listen to it for me to clarify what I am hearing. Any help would be appreciated.
Is this an: “I need to understand the background conversations for my divorce settlement?”
Probably not. All our tools are designed to bring the foreground sound out of the mud and clean that up. Few people are interested in making the mud cleaner. What is the background sound and under what circumstances was it recorded?
If your show is a compressed MP3 file or other compressed surveillance format, then it really is hopeless. Audio compression adds damage to the sounds. The tools need perfect quality WAV (or other formats) to do their job, and even then…
You can certainly post a clip. Use the “Upload Attachment” tab at the bottom of your message composition window.
Reduce your show to mono (Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono) and export a FLAC file. That’s the most efficient way for us to hear what you have. You should be able to get 6 to 8 seconds of work before the forum cuts you off.
Mostly just noise with what sounds like it could be an announcement of some kind beneath the noise. According to “CSI” there are special forensic techniques that can bring out the background sounds, but with standard audio processing techniques it’s pretty much a lost cause.
