just discovered an interview I recorded on a voice memo is completely inaudible. can’t record again. any tips/advice on how to enhance it or get it to a state I can hear and transcribe.

Audacity does not natively open AAC format files. Need to install something called FFmpeg into Audcaity …
what about iMac desktop?
I don’t speak Mac. Audacity will show a message if it cannot play the file you’re attempting to open.
If you cannot install FFmpeg in Audacity on a Mac, OCENaudio (free) plays M4A natively.
What should be - in your opinion - the problem with “iMac desktop”? FFmpeg exists in a Mac version, it is linked in Audacity’s documentation to buanzo’s website.
