I am on Macbook pro version 10.13.6 High Sierra. I was given a audacity USB record player and am trying to download the Audacity drive but i keep getting this message: You can’t open the application “Audacity” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Apple have advised i contact the makers for an updated driver to suit my system but where do you go to get this?
You must have an ancient version of Audacity as we have not produced a PowerPC version in many years.
The current version of Audacity is 2.3.0 and is available via the Audacity website: Audacity ® | Downloads
You may still get a nag screen from macOS because Audacity 2.3.0 is a 32-bit application, but you can safely ignore that warning. A 64-bit version is scheduled for release in January.
