I am running Windows 7, and Audacity 2.0.3
I am recording music tracks with a Tascam DP04 and wish to do final mixdown and mastering on Audacity. My problem is that when I move the data from the Tascam via card thru reader into computer, I have the following data,
Instrumental track, vocal track, drum track and so on. At the end of the wave I have all the tracks mixed together.
I want to seperate the tracks in Audacity so that I can enhance them individually and then put them all together for final product. Is it possible and how?
Thank you!!

That part didn’t come out right. The Tascam (DP004, not DP04) produced multiple individual instrument tracks one above the other, or the only Tascan export you have is all the instruments mixed in one stereo track?
Can you tell the Tascam to export each instrument individually to its own WAV file? If you can’t do that, then Audacity is not going to be able to “split” the instruments apart.

Thanks, so much for the reply. I don’t know if I can do that but I will check it out when I get back to the machine. Hopefully that will shed some light, I just can not figure out how to take them from the Tascam and make adjustments and then put them back together, otherwise Audacity is working well for what we need . Thanks again!
I have checked the Tascam, It appears that it will let me export individuals tracks. i will try that and see if it fixes my problem. Thank You
