I have AUDACITY 2.1.3, in Windows 10. . I want to save audio clips for editing purposes. So far the only way I seem to be able to do this is to literally save slips as individual files, bring them up and cut or paste when needed. Does Audacity have a separate Clipboard feature to store audio clips?
Yes, but it can only store one clip at a time

I used to do this a lot, and there’s an easy trick:
- Create a new empty audio track, and move it to the top (above any other tracks in the project). If your project uses both mono and stereo tracks, create on of each.
- Create a new label track and move it directly below the audio track(s) created in step 1.
- Click the Mute button it the tracks created in step 1.
- Click the Track Collapse Button on the track(s) created in step 1.
You now have a convenient place to store multiple audio clips, and can identify each clip with a label.
