Help for Newbie, Please

Would someone be so kind to suggest how I might clean up some of the louder sounds on this short recording? The best, but not only problem examples are in the “P” and “C” sound of “Program Coordinator.” I am using Yosemite V10.10.5 and Audacity 2.0.5.
Thank you.

Certainly. Import the original clear recording in Audacity and either apply Steve’s Vocal Rumble Filter or any filter that restricts vocal tones below about 120Hz or so. Effect > High Pass Filter: 24dB, 120Hz > OK.

That won’t work now. Now it’s too late. The clip you posted might be cleaned up by someone very good with Audacity and a lot of time and strong coffee/tea. They would have to take each of the damaged words apart and repair it or substitute other phrases that sound better.

If there is no original recording, the monolog will have to be performed again with the mouth further away from the microphone. That’s called “popping your Ps,” and yes, it sounds very newbie when someone does that and the damage is almost always permanent.

That round thing between Josh and his microphone is there to prevent that. It’s called a pop and blast filter.
