HELP - Crackling during voice over recording

HELP!! I have a blue yeti microphone connected by USB to my iMAC. I am trying to record narration and once I finish, I hear this crackling (audio attached) rendering my entire recording useless!! I have tried to troubleshoot using garageband - I still hear crackling. I’ve switched the USB ports and still having issues. I am not sure what to do. I need to deliver this audio and I can’t record anything that is clean. Thank you for your help!

Which OS-X and Which Audacity?

I have tried to troubleshoot using garageband - I still hear crackling.

OK, now it’s harder. Can you make a clean recording with your iMac built-in microphone? With either program? Change in the Audacity device toolbar.

I’m assuming that’s going to work OK.

How long is the USB cable? Normal USB cables come in around 3 to 4 feet. You can get really long ones, but they can have data problems…like crackling. Try unplugging, replugging and restart Audacity.

Can you try a different cable? It may be the same cable your printer uses.

Is this whole setup including the contract with the client brand new? Ever make a recording before?

One more. Microphones have to be Home Runs to the computer. No USB hubs.
