heading

Hi, I am very new to all this so my knowledge is very limited. I want to convert .aud to .wav to intergrate my work on my website using wix music app. They ask specificly for .wav. So I choose export audio, then other non compressed options, then WAV (NIST SPhere) signed 8 bits PCM. All this works pretty fine. But when I import it on the website it says it cannot proceed because a ‘‘header’’ is missing (translated from french -entête). How should I proceed to get that header?
When I do the conversion in audacity I see a note that says that not all headers are available…

Thank you for your help!

Do they also specify:

  • mono or stereo
  • sample rate
  • bit format (bit depth)

So far they ask only for stereo

You maybe working too hard. Audacity default export format is WAV. Stereo if you have two blue waves married as stereo on the timeline.

It’s not unusual for a posting service to convert a sound format from what you supply to what they want. In that case I would start the process with the highest conventional quality and that’s WAV (Microsoft) — attached. This format has no options. It’s always very high quality and it’s the same format as Music CD.

what do you mean by ‘‘if you have two blue waves married as stereo on the timeline’’?
I see only one blue line… is that the problem?

Like this:

http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/audio_tracks.html

Where did your Audacity project come from?
Is it imported files?
Something that you recorded? If so, what and how?

I recorded on my iphone with dictaphone

Wow! ok! I just succeded in making the stereo track! let see for the rest

arghh… again… So I converted to wav stereo but again it says that a ‘‘entête’’ is missing

my lasts responses didn’t seem to get trough… I used dictaphone in iphone…
I converted to stereo but I still get the same missing ‘‘entête’’ note…

We really need to know precisely what they want to be able to advise you correctly.
If they want “Stereo 16-bit Microsoft PCM WAV” the Audacity can do that, but we don’t know if that is what they want or something different.
Do your really need to use “wix music app”? What exactly are you trying to do?

Is this the information you want: http://www.wix.com/support/html5/article/uploading-music-files-for-wix-music? By bit rate, they mean bit depth.

If you export a stereo file from Audacity as “WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM”, project rate (bottom left) 44100 Hz, size not over 360 MB (not over 35 minutes) then there should be no error.

If there is still an error, I suggest you contact Wix support. Someone else is asking them the same question http://www.wix.com/support/html5/ugc/3b331ff8-5e89-44bf-8479-292c0d33e63c/1f012406-d0bd-4043-98d7-bba3c7111f2f.
