Have to reinstall OpenVino after each processing

Splitting stems works great with OpenVino in Audacity 3.5.1, but only once. When trying to split a second track, there will be added a strange artifact to each part which sounds like a loud crackle of a constant frequency without splitting properly.

Restarting Audacity doesn’t solve the problem. Neither does disabling/ enabling OpenVino. The only thing that works is reinstalling OpenVino, but again, just for one track. I assume that this is not the intention to work with OpenVino.

How this problem can be solved?

Hi @silentknight,

Seems like you’re encountering the OpenVINO caching bug that I haven’t been able to reproduce: 4 Stem Separation Mode only works once with CPU as Inference Device · Issue #1 · intel/openvino-plugins-ai-audacity · GitHub

A workaround which is a bit less irritating than uninstalling / re-installing the plugins is to delete this folder before running the effect each time: %appdata%\audacity\openvino-model-cache (just copy & paste that into Windows explorer).

Could you let me know which version of Windows you’re using? I’m still trying to understand which specific configurations are causing this issue.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for your quick response.
I’m using Windows 10.

Hi @silentknight,

Would you mind sharing what language of Windows installation you’re using? I don’t know yet if it’s related, but a couple of users who have experienced this issue have been using the German version of Windows 10/11.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hello Ryan,

The language I’m using is Dutch.

Greetings, Mario
