Every so often I get back on my computer (Windows 10 OS), uninstall Audacity, install the latest version (today it’s 3.6.2), and try to open it. I believe the first time I waited for over 20 minutes after trying to open it via the desktop link button. Then I killed the process, restarted the computer, and tried again. I lose track. There was one time I clicked on the App and it opened in less than 3 minutes, so I know it can open. I closed it and tried to open it again the same way… hangs for upwards of 20 minutes. I killed the process again. This is my life with Audacity the last few years. Some days it opens quickly, some days it takes maybe a half an hour, some days I get tired of waiting while it hangs and I kill the process. It’s not functional. I used to just be able to click the button and it would open reliably like normal software. Any ideas? This is the second time posting in the forum for this issue. I don’t feel like I should have to quit the program and learn another one.
