Hello,
the effects in the menu should be sorted and grouped. The amplify effect, e.g., is a very common effect. Fade in and fade out should stand together (that’s not the case in the German menu).

The current 2.1.1 version of Audacity has limited grouping ability. This is something that will be improved in the future. See here for the current options; http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/effects_preferences.html
That’s good to hear. Thanks.
The other thing you can now do with 2.1.1 is to disable any effects that you don’t want or need. They will then not show up in the Effect Menu - yey are not removed just disabled so you can always see in the Effect Manage dialog (top item in the Effect menus) and then re-enable them later.
See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Index_of_Effects,_Generators_and_Analyzers in the Manual - the Manage section near the top.
This page: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Manage_Effects,_Generators_and_Analyzers has the details.
I use this on my production system - works a treat with a shorter effects list

Yeah, that’s great, too!
