Groove music in Win 10 does not recognize wav tags.

Hi:
Groove music included in win10 does not seem to recognize tags with wave files created in Audacity. The files are there, with the title, but artist and album come up as unknown. As such, Groove lumps several albums into a giant unknown album folder. In WMP, they have all the info, and appear as separate albums. Groove does not allow you to edit the info, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don’t use Groove Music but in general tags for WAV files are not well-standardized or widely supported. If you want lossless files, try FLAC. Tagging is more standardized and your files will be about half the size.

It always helps if you tell us what version of Audacity you are using. Please see the pink panel at the top of the page.

If you use the current 2.1.2 version of Audacity from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows, then Audacity exports all seven default tags as both RIFF INFO and ID3 tags. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata.
