Grandmothers' last words lost, help!

A few months ago my mother, who is not computer literate, used audacity to record hours and hours of audio of my grandmother in the months leading up to her death. Then someone uninstalled audacity from her machine. This, for some reason, caused the audio files she had made to be split in to thousands of individual audio files, with names like e0000cf0. Reinstalling audacity has had no effect. My first thought was to make a copy of all the files, then convert them to mp3 and merge them that way, but to my horror I have found that the order has been jumbled somehow. If anyone has any way to help it would be greatly appreciated, and mean a lot to me and my mother.

Thanks

If you still have the AUP files, open those: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_opening_and_saving_files.html#aufolder.
