Using Audacity 3.7.4, I recorded a 3 track song through a DI box and had waveforms. After recording all 3 tracks, I mixed the finished tracks using various VST plugins. Then, exported the finished song to my computer as both .MP3 and .WAV files.
Tried to upload the .MP3 file to Audio.com and noticed that there was no waveform on Audio.com. I then reopened my finished song and it was blank as well. Thankfully, I save my unmixed tracks as a “master” and was able to recover my song from my “master” tracks.
My question is this, is it possible to over-process tracks with VST plugins and Audacity just isn’t able to reliably save such heavily modified recordings?
I have recorded over 1000 songs in this manner and the only thing different is I used more VST plug-ins than usual not thinking that Audacity man not be robust enough to handle 7 VST plugins simultaneously.
