Gating and limiting issue with a Yeti mic in Audacity

I recently bought a Yeti and every time I record my audio has a weird limit at the top and then the trailing off of my words and the ambient sound seems to get gated, so it is silent unnaturally (bad.jpg).

I was able to record something good once (good.jpg) but never again.

I don’t think that I have any setting in Audacity selected other than the default, and I haven’t been able to find anything to even describe what is happening.

I added images from Audition and Audacity that hopefully can describe better what I am saying.

Thanks.

Make sure all Windows “Enhancements” are turned-OFF. These are for “communication” and they try to even-out the volume and/or reduce the noise etc., but they will mess-up high-quality recording. Another application like Zoom or Skype might have enabled those “enhancements”.

Audacity won’t alter the sound but sometimes Windows does, before it gets to Audacity.

Sir, can’t thank you enough. Appreciate the thorough insight.
