Frustrated Trying To Install Audacity - 0xc000007b Error

I was using audacity without any problem in windows 8 before, but it suddenly stopped working. I tried reinstalling audacity, reinstalling Netframe, Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, restarting and all. I searched the forum as well, but could not figure out what is causing this issue.

I gave up trying to install Audacity a few months ago, but with the new version, thought if this issue can be solved, but the error persists. Whenever I try to open audacity.exe, I immediately get this error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

If anyone has figured out how to solve this issue, please help.

Your version of “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable” may be too old. Check on the Microsoft website for an updated version.

Please note that Audacity now only officially supports Windows 10, though we hear that many Windows 7/8/8.1 users are able to successfully run Audacity 2.4.2. We are not able to offer much help with older versions of Windows as none of the developers or support team have older versions.
