Filter Curve/Graphic EQ for Highlighted Audio

Good day everyone! I’m editing a 60 min DJ mix and trying to use the “filter curve” and “Graphic EQ” modes for particular tracks inside the mix. I’ve highlighted (with selection tool) a track which I wish to eq, and am noticing after applying one of “filter curve/graphic eq” it seems to apply it to the entire body of the mix, not just the highlighted section. After applying the EQ to the highlighted section, I highlight a new section and the filter curve/graphic eq modes are set where I applied to the old highlighted section after being re-launched. Have they actually been applied in the new section like is appears, or is that just where the “filter curve/graphic eq” modes are set to start the next action?

Also tried going through Preferences>Tracks Behaviors> Select All Audio, if selection required (engaged and unengaged).

My computer is a Mac running 10.14.6 (Mojave), Audacity version is 2.4.2

My apologies if this is a question that has been asked before. Ive been searching google, youtube and this forum looking for a specific answer to this.

It should just be remembering the last setting.

As an experiment, try a “drastic” setting like removing/attenuating everything above (or below) 1kHz and listen to see if it’s applied to the whole file.
