Ciao a Tutti!
Each time you open Audacity 2.3.3, when you use the “Filter Curve” effect for the first time, it generates an error window.
In subsequent uses this does not happen, but occurs again when the software is opened again. I use the version with the Italian translation.
The operating system in use on my PC is Windows 10.
I attach the window with the error message.
Is there a solution to this error?
Grazie / Thank you!
Enrico.
Please tell us in English what the error message says.
Ciao,
Here is the English translation of the error message:
Filter curve: Curve not found
The requested curve was not found, it will be used ‘without name’
I’m not able to reproduce this problem. Are you certain that you have Audacity 2.3.3 (look in “Help menu > About Audacity”)
Is that the only version of Audacity installed on your computer?
Ciao,
The installed version is 2.3.3 and it is the only version installed on the pc after the update.
I think it’s a problem of the Italian version, I should try to install the English version to see if the error is repeated. What do you say?
Are there any problems if I install the English version and then the Italian one again?
There isn’t a separate “Italian version”, there is just one version that supports multiple languages.
Did you get Audacity via the official Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/
Ciao!
The download was made from the official Audacity website.
I tried to uninstall and delete the Audacity directory, but the error window reappears.
I think you should perform a complete uninstall, also acting on the windows registry, but I need to know exactly what to delete.
In any case, since everything works correctly after the first error, it doesn’t matter.
Thanks anyway!
To “reset” Audacity, open the hidden folder:
*C:\Users<your-user-name>\AppData\Roaming\audacity*
and delete the three files:
- audacity.cfg
- pluginsettings.cfg
- pluginregistry.cfg
Ciao,
I have uninstalled and deleted all Audacity directories.
When I installed the software again, everything seemed to work, but the error reoccurred the next time the software was reopened.
Maybe I understand the problem.
Only one curve is stored in the “EQCurves” file.
That’s normal for Audacity 2.3.3.
Does the problem occur if you change the language to English? (See here for how to change the language: Interface Preferences - Audacity Manual)
Ciao!
I changed the language to English.
In this Audacity works perfectly.
When I choose Italian as language, then the error occurs again.
Thanks for confirming. You have discovered a bug.
It looks like it should be an easy fix, so hopefully we will be able to fix it for the next Audacity release.
Ciao!
I am very happy that my small contribution can help improve this fantastic software.
W Audacity!
