FFmpeg library is missing

I downloaded Audacity awhile ago and was able to create a karaoke version just fine. Now when I try to import the audio file I get the error that ffmpeg library is missing. When I continue with the process it isn’t stripping the vocals of the file. Any idea what I need to do?

Use a few more words. If the FFMpeg library was missing you would never have gotten the sound file into the machine. Are you saying you installed the FFMpeg libraries and then your new sound file started playing?

Does your original sound file work? Does it still make a karaoke song OK?

Sorry, I eventually got the FFmpeg library to work. However, know I get the error that the “Critical Nyquist files cannot be found”. And I try to create a karaoke song, but the words still come up. What am I doing wrong?

That’s a really strong indication that Audacity is not installed correctly. I’d suggest that you completely remove Audacity from your system, re-download it from here: Audacity ® | Download for Mac OS and then carefully follow the installation instructions on that page.
