Exporting WAV file but its saved as AIFF Format Sound

I import a WAV file (from our Cisco UnityConnections voicemail system) which I change format to 16-bit PCM and change the Rate to 8000Hz. I clean up some of the message (pauses and breaths) and then export audio and save as type: Other uncompressed files and change header to WAV (Microsoft) and Encoding to U-Law. This file is succesfully exported but it is saved as AIFF Format Sound. Our previous engineer did this the same exact way and the files were saved in as “Wave Sound.” How do I keep this file from exporting as AIFF and have it export as Wave Sound?

The file format should be OK. Just change the file extension to WAV.

[u]Someone else had the same issue[/u] and Gale says it will be fixed in the next release.
